Well, there are two questions here:
1. Does XP work for large projects, and
2. Does XP works with large project teams.

Many would argue that these two questions correlate strongly, but my
experience tells me otherwise, and we had this discussion. So, yes, XP
works very well for large (complex) projects. It is also my experience,
that XP helps to manage large project teams. I do not like them, and I
do not believe anyone needs them, but politics and CTO megalomania
forces us from time to time to do them -- and XP comes to the rescue...

Many people do share. But I wonder how many people actually listen...

Really? When?

We do not - because it is harmful for all parties, and is plain stupid!

Not many by "The Book", but probably most of us share at least the
common values, and I would say this is often good enough...

What is this fuzz about Layout? Any layout that promotes good
communication is good enough. Last week we actually moved to the
production hall where they build the robotic telescopes (we write
control software for them). I and my colleague actually worked on the
main mirror of one of these 14 tons monsters. Grate place for pair
programming :-)

Well, if someone comes with reasonable and concrete question, I would
guess she will receive proper answer. But what I read is nothing but a
conspiracy theory that XP can not work for large projects - without
proof, and without concrete questions. One should not wonder there are
no answers...
