Recently read Ricardo Semler's book "The Seven-Day Weekend", which
describes his
unusually democratic company, Semco. Even though he's CEO, his
projects can get out-
voted and un-funded by the employees. Much of what he described
sounded like Agile
methods (self-directed workers) applied to an entire company --
including not writing
down stuff [like "five-year plans"] on paper.
Semco is based in Brazil, but seems to have joint ventures
internationally.
