Crowthers said I should put a 19" prop on, but it would be a little tight to 
the hull. Apperantly they say 2" clearence is the minumum - Kismet (the boat 
I share with my Dad has less than 1/2 inch). In the end the price put me off 
as it would need a special high effeciency prop. I think I'll live for now.

The only gauge I have on my engine is an alternator warning lamp, and a 
voltage gauge! The oil pressure gauge was removed on the last service as 
apparently the pipe that feeds it has a habit of breaking and causing the 
oil to stop running. I couldn't see it anyway as the engine room floor was 
in the way!

I'd like to know how fast it's really running, it is at least a good 
indication of how fast you should be going, and clear the prop accordingly.
