what you need is a silicon sealant capable of handling high temperatures
such as 'Plumba' red silicon

whilst I do not like to wish this news group to become a commercial
advertising group :) we do sell this at  this at Shobnall Boat Services
Limited  Chandlery at Burton on Trent [of course we do mail order] (was
Jannel Cruisers Limited chandlery) can not remember the exact price - it's
around £8 for a standard large sized tube of silicon.
