Hi, I read pretty much everything, but only post occasionally.
I reckon there are probably 20 or 30 regular contributors to this list. Often, after a few helpful replies, topics are quickly hijacked by insider comments of the: "Don't mention x to Fred..." nature, and there then follows pages of--to those in the know I'm sure--humorous anecdotes, that probably mean nothing to the general readership. I think this comes out of face-to-face meetings with other list members, and the familiarity that grows over a period of years. This isn't intended as criticism, just an observation. I've taken an active part in similar discussions on other lists, but I do believe it might put off some would-be contributors. My 2 penn'orth (or whatever that's currently worth).
