I agree. It is something that I personally am considering.

Another option - and I know more than one person considering this 
- is to sell shares in one's boat to spread costs. As we are 
discussing in another thread this increases traffic on the water 
while bringing in no extra direct income for BW. Presumably extra 
traffic also increases wear and tear but, as a minimum, it will 
make boating less attractive and certainly won't help the boat 
building market.
