Harnser's present position http://tinyurl.com/Harnser-s-route

Today started a bit like yesterday, backwards. We had to be at Terry
Yates yard at 8am and we were moored on the opposite side of the canal
and a bit nearer the road bridge. We had been warned not to moor to
close to the bridge as the road was very noisy, it wasn't the road that
caused the problem, it was the ducks before daylight this morning.
I took the front and back hatches into the workshop and very soon there
were two strips of metal welded on each to stop them being lifted and we
were on the move by quarter to nine. We stopped in Rugby at Brownsover so
Diana could visit Tesco and also get some paint to paint the inside of
the hatches before they are replaced. The first coat was put on on the
move. I gave the rear door bit of a looking at as there is quite a bit
of rust between the cover strip and the door, this is welded top and
bottom and then just tacked in between, most of the tacks had snapped so
the best option was removal and cleaning before re welding. Once past
Barby Straight we found a convenient mooring and I set to with the angle
grinder and rust preventer. I will prime it tomorrow and then try to
find someone to reweld it for me.
