I mean, not that I'm defending it, but some folk on this island (despicable scumbags, alas) have been expressing dissent for many years --- with armalites and semtex. And before that, the majority of the population os this island expressed such an amount of dissent that HMG allowed us to bugger off and do our own thing. I am all in favour of dissent, and in particular against HM's current G's attempt at recording everything done by everybody, but I am often struck by the extent to which English folk calmly accept the most ridiculous regulations and their stalinist implementation by public authorities. It is quite a while since ordinary decent Englishmen had a decent insurrection. Aux armes, citoyens. bjg
