What I find most sinister about this report in the Times is that the
installation of this database has been going on for some time in
Wythenshawe, Manchester, and the location was accidentally let slip
late last year. The government staff have been told not to refer to
it by name or function but to refer to it as 'a new operations centre
in the north-west'. Why have we not been informed of this new level
of surveillance?
It is, of course, for our own good as it will aid the fight against
terrorism. ;-))

Another quote that made me laugh was that of Phil Woolas, Immigration
Minister, who said that 'The UK has one of the toughest borders in
the world and we are determined to ensure it stays that way'.
Yeah, right, tell that to the unknown number of illegals that are
already here and the unknown numbers that are still waiting in France
to cross!!!!
