Did you ever drink Drum Bitter? In cling-filmed cardboard cups as served at the NEC? Seriously, I think the problem at Napton was in the keeping although Davenports did go seriously down-hill for a time. Talking of Watneys though reminds me that one of the local micro-breweries is recreating a couple of the Phipps brews. Anyone who boated into Northampton many years ago may remember the brew (and the brewery before the Viking invasion). Glen
