These links are very good, keep it up chaps :)

We started fitting LEDs in our caravan, initially the cheapo 3xAA cell
ones, as reading lights for when we went to bed and I have been well
impressed with them so far.

I don't think it has been mentioned so far but if you are looking for
general illumination then go for the wide angle ones as t'others can be
very directional - great for spots but not so good otherwise.

The first time I came across these was when I met a chap at a Home
Educator's summer camp quite a few years ago, down in Charmouth. He had
a converted, ex-military 'Landy' ambulance which he was using as a
camper van; he had bought his LEDs from Ikea(!) as Christmas lights and
then modified them by drilling small holes in oblong strips of perspex,
about 20x30mm, pushing the lamps into the holes and then sticking them
around the inside of the cabin.

The effect was quite stunning as 'mood lighting' - until that warm, very
still, summer's night - when the rubber hose from his gas bottle leaked
and he filled the entire camping field with propane .. I've never seen
quite so many camp fires being put out, quite so quickly, by quite so
many people ....

After the Fire Brigade eventually let everyone back into the camp-site,
which was a good four hours after they had arrived, he was forbidden to
ever darken that farmer's gateway again :(

Great idea though (the LEDs) <g>
