I've been hanging LED off of model airplanes for a while with good results.
i get mine from http://www.component-shop.co.uk/ at about 19p each and use this wizard to figure out the resistor. http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz Now the voltage on a toy aeroplane doesn't vary as much as on a boat but so far I've had no problems. I set the resistor to cope with teh max expected voltage. I would have thought a zenner diode could smooth out any voltage spikes. Regards Terry
