I think we should go along with the way git should work. Afterall if
you're looking for Jamis' input on the matter you have to look at the
past and he chose the distributed source repo.

Let everyone fork and my guess is we'll see a clear "go-to" repo in a
month or two. It will be the one that is doing the most updates and is
pulling in changes from the other community leaders most often.

Yes, things will be confusing for a little while but would they not be anyway?

Choosing the mainline in the future based on how well the code is
progressing seems more sensible than choosing now. Luckily Git
supports this.
