sounds like a quasi-crystal is possible - take a look at:

acta_cryst.a36.399-408.1980, J. Appl. Cryst. (2003). 36, 1101-1102, giacovazzo's
"fundamentals of crystallography".

fine phi-slicing is apparently necessary to tease apart the lattices (from what
i have read).
