What caught my eye is that I think you have a Lucky Gold Star CDROM. This is
what I have although the model numbers don't match up.
I have had problems with cdrecord and cdrdao. Both work great with data CDs,
but I have been having problems with audio CDs.
I tried to figure out what you were doing with cdplay. I used my RedHat version
(0.33) and downloaded / compiled the latest (0.8) but can not find "info" as an
option or printable text in the source the way you have it in your e-mail.
Never the less I will take a stab at your problem. I had time index problems
using an older version of cdrtools (cdda2wav and cdrecord). The disk I created
would play through all cuts. However, the time stopped working from the second
track on. And, there was little luck in jumping to any index other than the
first track.
I downloaded and compiled the latest version 1.11a14 of cdrtools and managed not
only to create a disk but also add cd-text to it. It is working fine in a Sony
CD-TEXT capable player right now.
Earlier versions of cdrtools (1.11aXX) might have worked as I was using cdrtools
version 1.10 when things were not going so well.

Question: When adding CDTEXT, I used the cdda2wav option -L to gather CDDB
information from freedb.freedb.org. But, that only gathers information into
files like audio.cddb and audio.cdindex. I am under the impression I still have
to edit each *.inf file and transfer the CDDB data into each of these. Then, I
need to run "inf2cdtext.pl PERFORMER >cdtextfile" to create the "raw" CDTEXT
file which I assume is written directly to the CD. Is that right, or is there
another tool in there some where to make life a little simpler?
