Ever notice the only response that British make is oriented to the
dusky days of their Empire, which was held together with repression and
force of arms? (I make the assumption you are British, because I head this a
lot when I lived in London)
I think Americans are "violence oriented" as you say, because as a
culture we remember that the price of freedom is often paid with wars and
lots of violence. That is a sad fact, but seems to be the way things are.
