Didn't Ghandi say, "An eye for an eye and soon we'll all be blind."

Maybe we should look at the flaws within ourselves and our society which
create all such people in the first place. Afterall McVee believed in what
he did on a political level, he was trying to make a point in the only way
his education, upbringing and sociological conditioning would allow.

What disturbs me is not that he was put to death, in a lot of ways I think
the death penalty is effective at "persuading" people that crime is a bad
idea. Much more so than prison. But what disturbs me deeply is that there
were people who could feel so little compassion that they stood around and
cheered when he died. What McVee did is sick, but in some ways what that
crowd did makes them worse in my opinion.

We should be looking at the cause of the problem, not the symptoms.

best wishes,

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
If you want to be happy, practice compassion."
