It's a long leap from not wanting to pay for the crappy public school
system with my taxes dollars to letting crack babies starve. But
basically, I guess you're right. I don't want the responsibility. I have
enough already.
If the mother doesn't care enough about the child to provide for it, why
should I? Is there some law that says I have to get emotionally and
financially involved in solving this problem. I don't think so. I isn't
my problem. I didn't create it and I don't have any obligation, moral or
otherwise to solve it.
If that's cold, then I guess I'm cold. Maybe starkly realistic would be a
better term. No matter how much of the taxpayer money you throw at this
problem, it's not going away until the incentives attached to it go away.
