overturning that law applies to the western states. The Ohio case and the
other one (I forget where it is) unless the wording of the decision is very
broad will only apply to the relevant jurisdictions.
What is more horrifying, a brief procedure that's used only in a small, very
small number of cases annually, or in many of these cases, if the law is
allowed to stand, the medical horrors that will take place as many of these
births be allowed to go forward. Many of the cases where intact dilation and
extraction are used are for medically necessary reasons.
Tangential comment here, that another thing that pisses me off supremely
about this administration and their congressional supporters, their
willingness to ignore the science. In this case instead of looking at the
medical issues surrounding this form of abortion, they declared it was not a
medically necessary procedure.
