Could you describe the system under which these mailing lists operate?
Is there a significant difference between the two?
Therefore is the reality of expert's exchange, currently, a valid
comparison to the possible outcome of charging for subscriptions to
these mailing lists?

the lists to get help and save themselves time and money only to bolt

run pissed off when he asks for a simple, one time fee to help cover the
costs? I would find that very rude of people. Experts Exchange charges
and
that place makes a boat load so while I do see some people going
elsewhere,
a majority would stay I think... This isn't HTML 101 help.
