I'm not saying the situation is hopeless. If Arafat would be a leader and
tell his people to stop attacking then maybe there would be more hope. The
entire Oslo peace plan was based on that. We'll talk rather than fight.
As for offensive attacks, would you have killed the terrorists from the
towers before they struck? The answer is yes. Would you kill Bin Ladin now
if you had the chance? I think everyone in America and a few other places
would say yes.
But that's all besides the point. The Israeli defense minister ordered his
troops to halt operations in order to test the cease fire.

Maybe this is the re-start of peace. If not, then it'll just be more of the
same. Israel needs peace, not war. The constant attacks are whittling them
away. I long for the day when Israels is accepted as a country and there's
no state of war or even cold peace. I long for the day when Israel will
live in peace with the countries around it without fear of an attack. The
time will come. Until then, I'm going to be a realist.

Terrorist counter spies? Riiiiiight. This is the middle east. Man trusts
his brother and that's about it. We'll put a ton of money into intelligence
and get out of it very little. That's the way its always been over there.
And we'll trust no one anyway. If Israel tells us that there's the
potential for an attack, we'll doubt them. If Jordan says they know who did
it, we'll doubt them. If Saddam stands up and says "I did it", we'll kill
him, but still doubt him. That's the middle east.
