How well I recognize that question from my internal dialogue.

Suck it up and go out. But notice half way through the outing whether you are having a good time, or not. You will probably be surprised that you are. If you are not, why not? Is it an activity you don't like? Too loud? Too much cigarette smoke? Do you not like some (all) of the people you are around? These are things you can change. Are you scared someone will _notice_ you?

It is too easy to sit at home and avoid the world. Quiet time is good, and necessary, but there can be too much of a good thing.

And as my sister has pointed out, it is unlikely that the girl of my dreams is going to deliver a pizza to my door.

Get out there and live.

When I get depressed, the last thing I want to do is be around people.
Would it be better to suck it up and go out or just have my quite
time?
