What type of discrimination?

Let's say you are 19, want to buy cigarettes. The clerk refuses to sell the
cigarettes to you because, in his/her belief, 19 is too young. The law says
you are old enough. However, clerks have the right to refuse customers in
his/her store, as long as the grounds are not based on race, religion, or
sexual orientation. So is the clerk within his legal right to refuse to
sell? Or is this some type of age discrimination?

> Bull. That sounds like the days before civil rights when there were signs
saying "no coloreds" and apartment listings saying >"no jews". There are
laws in place that prohibit this type of discrimination. As long as the
prescription is legal (real doctor, >etc.) then the pharmacist should have
to fill it.
