Yes, but can you control when they would be exposed if it was legal. If someone can walk down the street smoking a blunt, can you protect your children from the smoke? Could you protect yourself? I'd rather that drugs were legal but heavily controlled. I'd also prefer people to have common sense. As they don't seem to have the latter (much), I can't trust in the former.
I'll teach my kids the dangers, I'll stress that its bad and I'll keep them away from them as long as I can. I give them a LOT of leeway in things that I don't feel are a danger to them.
