You know, I can't control how and when my child will be exposed to a lot of things. Jehovah's witnesses troll the neighborhood. Personally, I find them rather dangerous - with their attempts to brainwash my family. ;) But, sadly, making them illegal goes against my beliefs in freedom of speech and stuff.
I agree with Ray that the consequences for mis-using drugs would need to be severe, and that regulations would need to be in place. But, I don't think it's undoable. I find cigarette smoke just as intoxicating as second hand pot smoke (nicotine buzz, anyone?). So, I don't take my child to bars, and if I see a cluster of smokers, I'll probably cross the street. It's an inconvenience to me, but oh well. Interestingly, Madison has passed a law banning smoking in all public places (including bars). I know there are several other cities that have this already. I am looking forward to when it's implemented, but only for the purely selfish reason that I'll want to go to bars to see my husband play again.
