Coincidentally to this I received a call from a friend I hadn't heard from in five years. He lives in Gambell on St Lawrence Isle, Alaska where he teaches. For what it's worth the older Inuits also claim that the climate has changed in recent years. The migration and breeding patterns of the marine mammals seem to be changing and the seasons are warmer. Of course that may not be human-influenced climate change at work here, but it did drive home the point that people like this, subsistence hunters in extreme climates, will probably be the first and hardest hit by any significant climate change.
