Maybe it's just me, but I don't worry about visuals too much. My
favorite game for the PSX was "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver". Maybe a
little too munch block-pushing puzzles from time to time, but I loved
the story and the universe and the voice actig was /outstanding/. It
came out for the PSX, but also the Dreamcast and the PC - and I played
them both - but I preferred the PSX version. It was jaggy, for sure,
but the developers did a magnificent job of building an environment that
worked with the console's limitations, and produced an environment that
actually benefited from an outdated graphics engine (if that makes any
sense).
Doesn't mean that I don't spring for the Xbox version of something that
comes out for all three consoles if I have a choice (Ubisoft bundling
Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia together for $20 was a beautiful
thing), but just because the shadowing effects and texture resolution in
Splinter Cell and NFL2K5 are worse in the PSX than the Xbox (and
GameCube) doesn't make "Devil May Cry" or "Xenosaga" bad games. I just
don't see your logic.
