Right, I agree with the fact they are not like us, you know, advanced
Westerners and all. Women with equal rights and all. Hell, women have been
able to vote in this country since 1920.

But when did that ever allow us to go to war and kill people? Why are you
talking all this moral stuff, when, before 9/11, you, and most Americans,
gave it little or no thought? Now we are in sensed by it. "My God, look how
they treat their women." I have news for you Beth, that is how a lot of the
world treats women, sadly. Only, you don't see us running to correct that.

Funny, not long ago many of the people in this group and the conservative
news were angry that we were sending people to the Balkans, bashing the UN.
Rush Limbaugh whining up a storm. There was rape, torture, enslavement, etc.
there, but no, we can't be a world police force. Now, only a few years
later, that tune has changed.

Like usual, people on the right think the people on the left are weak and
not thinking, not wanting to take action. The politicians have done such a
fine job of creating a huge chasm between us that you must be on one side or
the other, that there is no middle ground that can be used for critical
thinking. Our schools do a fairly miserable job in educating us about
history and our past. I was appalled by this terrorism bill, as we all
should be.
