Beth, are you in Alaska by any chance? Own some property near the ANWR with some right-of-way? Opening ANWR has very little long term benefit. You see, sooner or later we have to go back to OPEC. Alaska would keep this country, with its 10 and 12 MPG Super SUVs going for about 1 1/2 years a the most. Shoot, let's say it does for 10 years. What does that buy us. It is this type of short-term thinking that has gotten here. Short-term in that the American people, us Beth, in only 20 years, totally forgot sitting inlines for gas. Do you remember sitting in a 25 car long line for gas in 90 degree, 90% humidity, Houston (that's right, the oil state) weather, only miles from Beaumont and Texas City, where they make the gas? I do. It sucked. Could all the people who have done that died and not passed along that information? No you say? Then why do we drive big, 12 MPG cars? Because we sold our souls to OPEC and have not learned a thing. Soon we will be even more reliant on foreign oil to maintain the way of life we have come to know. Yeah, let's go drill in Alaska. We need another Exxon Valdez. Alaska is pristine again, right? And it only cost US tax payers a billion+ dollars. And Exxon got the greatest deal.
