There was (is) water in my attic. We saw some dampness over the summer, but nothing major until the snow came. So, I had some roofing people come out and look. They say the problem is probably with the chimney, not the roof. So, I had some chimney people come out.
Apparently, there was a "nest" of some sort blocking the chimney. They had to dig through a couple feet of leaves to clear the chimney. They said they'd never seen a blockage that bad without their being a dead animal in the chimney. Blocked Chimneys are the number one cause of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. My GF did some research this morning and she has most of the symptoms. She is hit harder than I would be since she has Asthma, and has been spending time in the attic boxing things up, etc.. I'm hoping that clearing the blockage will help reduce the affects, although there is some damage to the chimney, so there is nothing preventing stuff from going into the attic. The first problem is the time of year. The chimney can't be fixed when it's rainy / snowy, etc.. The second problem is cost. Based on yesterday's quote, I'll have already doubled my yearly budget for home repairs (and January isn't even over). :-) -- Jeffry Houser, Web Developer, Writer, Songwriter, Recording Engineer AIM: Reboog711 | Phone: 1-203-379-0773 -- My Books: <http://www.instantcoldfusion.com> My Recording Studio: <http://www.fcfstudios.com> My Energetic Acoustic Rock Band: <http://www.farcryfly.com> -- When did Reality Become TV ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:142676 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
