That would be true were the playing field level. While it took me awhile to
buy into AA, I do support it. Everyday I see people in society continue to
treat people of color and minorities "differently". The small gestures, the
comments, the stares.. It all adds up. Take the quote Gel posted... Just
because you preach equality does not mean equality exists. The playing field
is not level nor will it be until the older generation dies off... You know,
the generation who stares at the biracial highschool couple?.. The parents
who drive their kids to school because the bus driver is black? That is the
list that goes on and on. How does a minority get a fair shot when the field
itself is not fair. AA does nothing more than level off a field controlled
by the arrogant white man, myself included.
