I've been confused by this too. Growing up Catholic, I was aware of the rules of marriage and annullment. These days, it seems it's not that hard to get one though. I know a woman who just recently received an annullment who had been married for 30 years and had 4 children. Now, I'm not exactly sure how that wasn't a "real" marriage. Also complicating the situation is she now has 4 bastard children.
