Loved my time in Japan. Lived there from 1983 to 1987 and made several return
trips in the late 80's and early 90's. Before I learned Japanese I was always
able to find someone to help me find my way and most of the major stations have
English versions of station names, maps etc... Besides as a single guy
traveling the lost traveler scenario works great. Forget awkward pickup lines
etc.. Break out a map and schedule and ask for help. Damn near married a
woman I met that way.
