Thanks for posting that! I was beginning to think that rather than fracture the whole party had simply dropped federalism in favor of social conservatism. The Republican special interests are becoming clear: 1.) Fiscal conservatives, 2.) Federalists, 3.) Social conservatives (legislate morality), and 4.) Business libertarians. Now that the Republicans control all of government, the special interests are beginning to diverge. For example some so-called conservatives are willing to trade federalism for the "culture of life" in the Schiavo case. Many others are willing to trade both fiscal conservatism and federalism for the "culture of life" and to ban gay marriage. My opinion is that Mr. Bush doesn't care at all about #1 or #2, somewhat cares about #4, but will trade them all for #3. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:151371 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
