Each state has different laws about this. In Kentucky you can't in anyway
keep somebody from earning a living. However, you can have exclusive deals,
however should that deal break, you could easily sell that same service to
somebody else.

The purpose of such agreements is usually to protect a companies secrets,
and to scare employees.
