I don't know the woman and don't condone the behavior, but tubal
ligation is major surgery and supposing she did not have insurance
coverage for it and the husband/boyfriend/whatever did not want to
spend the money it might have been out of the question...but the thing
to do in this situation, imho, is ditch the boyfriend or get an IUD...
either would have been more rational, I agree. The thing to remember
here is that this whole story becomes several orders of magnitude
worse if there are children running around; anyone too self-absorbed
to use condoms or geta vasectomy is unlikely to be good father
material.
