Which would be my point - typically homeschool kids have very involved
parents and therefore get a strong connection to family as well as a
good sense of self.  I don't think socialization is an issue.

However we have discussed the problems they may have getting into a
top university, but there are a few strategies to avoid that depending
on the kid:

1.) Summer school with accredited schools/universities,
2.) 1 year at a non-premium U and then a transfer, or
3.) Public undergrad w/4.0 top grad (still puts you at a disadvantage
over other kids)

However most kids don't need/want a top U education but for those
looking to fast start who want to compete with top students, they'll
have problems.
