If you aren't buying the system for anything other than straight gaming, the
GameCube has come out ahead in conference tests. I have played with all
three (friends') and decided to go with Game Cube. It plays smoother and
the graphics are a little bit sharper. The only thing is that there are
fewer games for it right now....but games are coming out quickly. I am
under the impression that the encoding format used by gamecube allows PC
games to be converted to GC Format in a matter of 2 - 3 weeks tops, so I'm
sure they'll be releasing some of those titles as well. GC also has some
awesome party games, and the hardware is priced better.

PS2.

Runs PS1 games if you have any.
Plays DVD's.
Has many more games than the other 2 put together.
Already has a large user base and lots of developers working on new ones.

Perhaps both of the other 2 machines are technically more advanced and the
graphics are slightly better, but not that much better for machines which
will cost roughly double what a PS2 costs.

I don't own a console, or plan getting one, but If I was, there would be
only one choice.

Hey, I don't drink tea or coffee, so why would I have a coffee pot??

Oh, not to mention that since I don't eat certain things (health reasons) or
drink alcohol, I seem to have beer and bread in the flat - it may be for
entertaining...

More room for my toys - such as DVD, surround sound, DreamCast, PS2,
GameCube, blah blah blah
