Israel gave back the entire Sinai to Egypt for peace. They offered land to the Palestinians for peace. I don't agree with the formula of land for peace, but if it'll buy peace then its worth it. Problem is, it doesn't look like Arafat wants to have peace. As a side bar, if all the Arab countries who are sending guns and paying the families of martyrs would instead invest in desalination technology then there would be more water in the region and less tension because of it. I think its hypocritical that all this oil money is going to destruction on both sides rather than creation. "Be killed for glory and to kill the Jews but we wouldn't give you water to drink or money to build your home".
