Well then I think we're coming to an understanding. I agree with the idea but not with the conclusion. ;^) I still see the simplification as distractive. My only, admittedly esoteric, comment is that science doesn't have a thing to say about the existence of a "designer". Science, with the proper evidence, will accept "God" as it would any other concept. (Keeping in mind of course both Occam's Razor and the fact that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - both of which ID fails pass). I agree that religion has no place in the science class (and let's for the sake of argument assume we're talking about, say, high-school science classes). But don't allow anybody to twist that and say that science is anti-religion.
