Originally I bought the Griffin iTrip. It worked well until it was
ran over in the parking garage. I went back to Fry's to buy another
one, but ended up buying a aux adapter for my truck. The iTrip was
$35.00, the aux adapter was $100.00 and a Belkin car charger/line out
adapter was $3.00 on ebay. That said, the aux adapter is definitely
the way to go if you use it in the same car. The iTrip suffers the
same problems as any rf modulator in that it's not near as loud as any
other source for your radio so you end up turning the radio volume
quite high. The other problem with rf modulators is that you'll get
clipping if the source (the iPod) is too loud, so then you have to
turn you iPod volume down a bit, but you don't want to turn it down
too much cause then you can't hear it well. It's a viscious cycle.
None of these problems occur with a direct connection to your radio.

Most other radio adapters seem cheaper. I've got a GM vehicle with
the upgraded radio and it has to have a special adapter with
electronics built into to fool the radio into thinking there's a live
component always hooked up to it. Installation was a snap though. I
think it took me all of about 15 minutes.

The brand I got is called "Peripherals" I think. I installed it about
a year ago, so I could be wrong about the name :)
