BC is a great place to live, depending on the area - the interior is a
lot like Salisbury MD - a mixture of rednecks and ex hippies. But
there's not a lot that goes on there otherwise unless you work in a
resource industry. Places like Vancouver (think the DC area just more
polite) and Victoria are really nice. But the Islands are great. If I
could swing it I'd be living on Salt Spring Island.

The downside to lotus land on the left coast is its a very active area
in terms of earthquakes etc.

If you want stable without any of that you look at places like
Manitoba or Saskatchewan.
