DUCK!!! IMO, there ain't nuffink wrong with the performance of the new Macs!! :^) We have G4's and the old Powerbook G3's here, and they work beautifully!! Very nippy!! Although the Powerbook that got Linux installed on it was MUCH faster!!
As for price... my Powerbook, which cost AU$4300, has FAR FAR outlived a Pentium PC laptop we paid $5000 for. And a desktop Mac will FAR outlast a desktop PC... so do the sums and work out why you pay a bit more for a Mac. Also... the iMac isn't meant to be put on a bench and opened up... they are for people at home to plug in and use... and, once again, IMO, I think they are a MUCH better option for home users than PC's. Far less hassles!! I think they look great. Full credit for Apple for making computers look interesting. N Dan Phillips wrote: > > It looks like a desklamp.
