Not really, but it can be turned off. For instance, I have the Lucent 
Residential Access Point.

I also have 16 Dedicated IPs, there was no need for me to use that to do 
the Address translation. So instead, I turned on to the "Network 
Infrastructure" setting. Using this setting it used the DHCP server that I 
already had set up.

Most of the other wireless products are able to do this as well.
