Yeah I will have to retract my statements a bit and say that the G4 does
rock. I think Apple would be a little more sucessful in the market though if
they came down the price a bit. A first time buyer would rather spend $300
on a Compaq Than say $1200 on an iMac. I know that the $300 Compaq is
worthless but all the consumer sees is price. Very few consumers actually
look at past the dollar value, at least in my area of the world.

I think I'm just still pissed about the "hockey puck" mouse that came with
the first round of iMacs. lol

DUCK!!!

IMO, there ain't nuffink wrong with the performance of the new Macs!!
:^) We have G4's and the old Powerbook G3's here, and they work
beautifully!! Very nippy!! Although the Powerbook that got Linux
installed on it was MUCH faster!!

As for price... my Powerbook, which cost AU$4300, has FAR FAR outlived a
Pentium PC laptop we paid $5000 for. And a desktop Mac will FAR outlast
a desktop PC... so do the sums and work out why you pay a bit more for a
Mac.

Also... the iMac isn't meant to be put on a bench and opened up... they
are for people at home to plug in and use... and, once again, IMO, I
think they are a MUCH better option for home users than PC's. Far less
hassles!!

I think they look great. Full credit for Apple for making computers
look interesting.
