Well, that makes 2 of us, but I'm not questioning why we *would've*
been involved, or if we were.  Just what Gel's reasoning is as to why
he thinks the US is motivated to poke sticks at Latin America now
(post 2000).

Basically, the US has an energy motivation and a drug motivation. 
Both couldn't remotely be considered unreasonable.  Everybody on the
planet wants stable energy and an end to drug problems.  Stable
reasonable governments mean stable oil.  That also mean peaceful
aspirational living.  (This + terrorism answers your Iraq question)

So the issue I have is that, to listen to Gel, the US seems to like to
poke sticks at Latin America for no apparent reason.  I'm wondering if
he has a theory or just thinks every US President enjoys tormenting
Latin America.
