Which is funny because in that case the gov't *is* the company. 
Everybody joins gov't for personal gain all under the veil of
providing for the collective.  Really they're just providing for
themselves.

All of this reminds me of Battlefield Earth which is very Ayn Rand
like.  (we know Kevin, you think it's claptrap)

I don't agree with that in terms of Social Security.

Theoretically that program isn't a wealth transfer, but a return of
your own money.  You earned it, the gov't just took it before you
could do something stupid with it and then gives it back to you when
you're glad they took it.  Plus they stop taking it at $94k/yr in
income.  With a few tweaks it's simply a gov't enforced savings plan.

A great idea in my opinion and an example of how gov't can create the
safety net without robbing people.
