We are starting to be seen as a rogue state? By who (besides Gel)? We are
the leaders of the international community, and for good reason. And I can't
understand how you can be so naive as to think that there is even a tiny
possibility that the Iranians are telling the truth.

The path to nuclear status, even when you are a pariah state, is very clear.
North Korea showed the Iranians exactly what to do. Lie and disimulate, and
if you get caught, kick out the inspectors and threaten to abandon all
cooperation, then come back to the table and "negotiate" to buy time while
you finish the bomb.
