> Are you seriously asking this question? Why should > someone's right to live supersede someone's right to live? > The idea of laws is to protect the citizens, from faud, > from death, from other governments. I would like to know > why you think someone should be allowed to drive unsafely > if there is a good chance it could end someone's life. You > have the right to do anything you want as long as you > don't interfere with my rights. I don't believe "safety" has ever been introduced by amendment to the constitution as one of our rights. I'm not saying it shouldn't (personally I'd rather it not), but I don't believe it has. Also, laws are frequently based on bogus information, particularly safety laws (because as a culture we're so obsessed with legislating away anything we don't like good or bad, particularly any form of risk). Have a look at a book called Freakonomics which talks about how a swimming pool in your back yard is statistically more dangerous to your children than a gun in your home, or how the child car-seat laws were passed in every state in spite of the fact that they don't change the statistics enough to prove that they make the child more safe. s. isaac dealey 434.293.6201 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:199777 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
