Oh come on. They wanted to invade so badly they could barely sit still. They made it very clear that they were not listening to anyone else. That was what set off the flags in my mind, though I was still hoping that I was wrong really and they would turn out to be completely right.
I said at the time that I was operating on the premise that this administration always lies and always has some sort of corrupt agenda, and that they had yet to truly disappoint me. With the possible exception of Afghanistan, they have still yet to do so, and we hear so little from Afghanistan that it may not be an exception either. Oh, by the way, here is today's horror story -- having previously defined oil byproducts to be "not pollution" there is now afoot a plan to make national forests that have been through a natural disaster available for clear-cut logging. Natural disaster has been defined to include snowfall and rainstorms. You have to admire what this administration can do with a definition.
